SHARE Security and Compliance Project
Our History as
a SHARE Project
In 1972, the SHARE Security Project was formed by Barry Schrager, who became its first Project Manager.
In 1974, Schrager, the principal developer of ACF2 (now CA ACF2), wrote a 15 page document (the first few lines of which are to your right) outlining the SHARE Security Project's Goals for Data Security.
Justifiably proud of our roots, we congratulate Barry Schrager, still a member of the Project, and all of the early pioneers who worked to make the IBM Mainframe the most secure computing platform available today.
